Palms to Palmettos: A One-of-a-Kind Experience …

Nov 01, 2017 11:44AM ● By Odell Williams

There is something very special about Palms to Palmettos, located at 3357 Leaphart Road, in West Columbia (just between Interstates 20 and 26). Edie Enright Hershfield and Dawn Ridge opened the doors to this little, quaint hidden treasure, just off the beaten path in the summer of 2014. Nestled on a half acre with beautiful overhanging live oaks, these ladies turned their vision into a reality. As the doors opened on that hot July day, you could step into an eclectic art gallery featuring a variety of art, gift items, collectibles and antiques. At this time, there was a single room dedicated to Dawn of Your Wellness, where clients could enter for a relaxing massage or reiki treatment. This was the initial vision of the store. Shortly after, custom framing was added to enhance the gallery’s ability to provide a full-service menu for individuals in need of framing and matting heirlooms, artwork and more.

Three years later, Palms to Palmettos (P2P) has morphed into “a treat for all five senses,” according to Edie. “Our store has flourished into a beautifully created healing space,” says Edie. “A place where customers can come in for crystals, books, CBD oil supplies, amazing events, and an impressive display of fine art.” Adds Dawn: “Plan to spend an hour or so browsing the store, because there are so many intriguing items to see.” Together, they share the passion and energy to continuously strive to bring to you a welcoming, peaceful and relaxing place to visit.

What can one experience at P2P? The list of features are impressive: Weekly workshops, an in-house wellness center (Dawn of Your Wellness) providing services such as massage therapy, reiki and HRV testing, as well as Edie’s working artist studio. Stop by and see her latest creations.

People flow through the doors, commenting they are just drawn to the store but are not sure why. Many have gotten teary-eyed by the overwhelming feelings they get as they walk through the front door embraced by the positive energy, magic and good vibes! Whatever the here-and-now sources of inspiration are that leads these ladies to create a space to always heighten the experience with spirituality and creativity, it surely happens.

Inside the gallery, you will find a wind chime among many hanging from the ceiling, bringing the attention to itself by almost everyone that visits. There is no explanation why it continually shakes by itself. Peaceful Spirits have been seen inside the gallery and on the grounds, such as a Native American woman, a soldier, and a woman in a bonnet. A strong old oak tree sits on the land projecting a very energetic and powerful yet gentle presence. There are many things that cannot be explained in life, but where there is faith, there is healing. Where there is peace, there is presence. Palms to Palmettos wants to be a place of presence for all seekers looking for guidance on their journeys.

Springtime at P2P means it’s time for its annual Holistic Healing Arts Festival in May. This day is always held on a Sunday and brings to you many artisans and holistic practitioners from around the tri-state area that provide services and products for your lifestyle. Come out to a fun-filled day of family, friends, music and more!
