November Rain Barrel and Compost Bin Sale

Nov 08, 2020 01:59PM ● By Annette Briggs

Time for a good sale. On Saturday, November 14, from 10 to 11 a.m., Columbia Water and Richland County Stormwater are teaming up to host a Rain Barrel and Compost Bin Sale at Southeast Park, located at 951 Hazelwood Road, in Columbia. There are many great reasons to explore composting. It helps to reduce the environmental impact—to include less landfill waste and methane gas reduction. Composting also enriches the soil with beneficial nutrients; promotes root growth; and helps to sustain a variety of plant and animal life, including birds, insects and beneficial bacteria.

For a limited time, residents can purchase classic black 50-gallon Ivy rain barrels and/or 65-gallon backyard composting bins at discounted prices. The barrels are only $68, and the bins are $59.
