S.C. Energy Office Offers Grants

The S.C. Energy Office is, once again, offering $5,000 mini-grants. The U.S. Department of Energy has awarded funding to the Energy Office to support several high-impact educational and demonstration projects. Specific funding areas include energy efficiency, renewable energy and alternative fuels. Through these efforts, the S.C. Energy Office hopes to encourage awareness of effective technologies by way of successfully developed projects visible within the local communities.

Eligible applicants include state agencies, local governments, public colleges, universities, technical colleges, K-12 public schools, and 501(3)(c) nonprofits. The maximum award value is $5,000. Cost sharing is not required, but leveraging of funds is encouraged in order to maximize the energy-related benefits of a project. Applications are due by close of business on September 19. Additionally, projects must be completed by May 18, 2016.
