MLK Day of Service 2016

Monday, January 18, is the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Observed nationally each year the third Monday in January, people of all ages and backgrounds come together in honor of the vision of a “beloved community” that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. envisioned for America designed to improve lives, bridge social barriers and strengthen communities to bring the nation closer together. King devoted his life’s work to causes of equality and social justice. The federal holiday in his honor is a perfect opportunity for Americans to honor King’s legacy through service. Individuals, companies and organizations alike are challenged to explore ways to participate.
