2017 AHA Midlands Heart Walk

On Saturday, April 1, the American Heart Association (AHA) will host the Midlands Heart Walk, the association’s premier fundraising event to combat heart disease and stroke. These life-threatening illnesses are two of the leading causes of death in the U.S. Designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living, the Heart Walk creates an environment that's fun and rewarding for the entire family. More than 5,000 walkers and more than 100 companies will come together to participate in and support this noncompetitive 3.3-mile signature walk designed to support the mission and efforts of AHA. Money raised goes toward AHA’s efforts to reduce deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Invite a friend or co-worker for a great day of beneficial exercise and bonding for a great cause. Fundraising is encouraged, with donation prize levels available.

Cost: Free, fundraising encouraged. Times: Check-in at 8 a.m.; Heart Walk begins at 9 a.m. Starting location: Colonial Life Arena: 801 Lincoln St., Columbia. For more information, call 803-806-3092 or visit http://www2.heart.org/site/tr/heartwalk/maa-midatlanticaffiliate?pg=entry&fr_id=2074.
