KMB Hosts Shoe Recycle Fundraiser Campaign

From Saturday, April 1, through Friday, May 19, Keep the Midlands Beautiful (KMB) is once again collecting shoes to raise funds to support litter-prevention efforts, recycling and beautification in the Midlands while benefiting microenterprise ventures in developing nations and keeping old shoes out of local landfills. The public is invited to participate in a shoe collection drive to support KMB’s mission in celebration of Earth Day.

Individuals can help by donating gently worn and used shoes. Individuals, families, businesses and organizations, such as churches, schools and civic groups, are invited to participate. Last year, KMB collected more than 4,000 pairs, and wants to collect even more this year—an achievable goal through the support from the local Midlands community. This would be a great Earth Day project!
