Open Streets Columbia

Come join the fun for Columbia’s very first Open Streets celebration taking place on Sunday, April 2, from 1 to 4 p.m. Open Streets Columbia will feature three city blocks transformed into a car-free open space, allowing participants from all across the Midlands to enjoy physical activity and community interaction through walking, bicycling and recreational activities. The mission of Open Streets Columbia is to promote sustainable transportation options, encourage physical fitness and wellness, and cultivate civic pride.

A free event, organized, in large part, by the Columbia City Council and the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, along with other partnering entities and sponsors, Columbia’s version of this nationwide event is considered part of a broader effort to promote safe walking and biking across the city. The event is hosted by the Devine Street Association and the Shandon, Oakwood Court and old Shandon neighborhoods. Open Streets is more than a festival, it's a street transformation. Join the movement!

Location: The blocks of Devine, King and Holly streets (the Boutique Shopping Corridor). For more information, visit OpenStreetsColumbia.com.
