ICRC Hosts Its Polar Challenge

Are you ready to take the polar challenge? On Saturday, July 22, from 8 to 9 a.m., the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission (ICRC) will host an ice polar challenge at the upper boat ramp located at Saluda Shoals Park. Brave and courageous Midlands area residents are welcome to come participate in this nationwide challenge. Parking is free and a $10 donation is requested. As a note, participants will have the option to take a dip in the Saluda River instead of opting for the polar challenge. Proceeds raised will help to support the work of the Saluda Shoals Foundation—a nonprofit organization that supports the work of Saluda Shoals Park through financial support, fostering partnerships and creating community awareness with regard to the park’s recreational activities, environmental education programs and cultural opportunities.

Location: Saluda Shoals Park, 5605 Bush River Rd., Columbia. To register and for more information, call 803-213-2062 or visit icrc.net.
