World of 7 Billion Student Video Contest Now Open

It’s back by popular demand! Population Education is now sponsoring its World of 7 Billion student video contest to help students and teachers enhance technology and creativity in high school science and environmental education classes. This exciting contest challenges students to create a short video (up to 60 seconds) about human population growth that highlights one of the following global challenges: advancing women and girls, feeding 10 billion people, or preventing pollution. All videos must include theory and content on how population growth impacts the issue and at least one idea for a sustainable solution. Participating students can win up to $1,000 and teachers can receive free curriculum resources. Deadline for submissions is February 22.

Population Education, a program of Population Connection, is the only national program with a strong emphasis on curriculum and professional development for K-12 educators that focuses on human population issues.

For full contest guidelines and research resources, call 1-800-767-1956 or visit WorldOf7Billion.org/student-video-contest.
