30th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

On Monday, January 15, starting at 4 p.m., the 30th annual celebration honoring the life and contributions made by the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be held at Martin Luther King Jr. Park and Community Center, located at 2300 Greene Street, in Columbia. In addition, there will be a wreath-laying ceremony at the historic marker honoring him (at the corner of Harden and Greene streets) at 3 p.m. Members of the Alpha Psi Lambda and Omicron Iota Lambda chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. will lead the ceremony. Midlands area residents are cordially invited to gather and honor the timeless sacrifice and enduring legacy of King.
