It’s a Dream Come True!

Chi Energy Balance has moved to Gaston. From her start as a partner at the Center for Health Integration (CHI) in 2002, Pamila Lorentz, MSW, RN, LMBT, is well-known in the Columbia area as a local pioneer in CranioSacral Therapy. When the doors closed in 2016, Lorentz established a private healing practice (Chi Energy Balance), which continues to provide advanced craniosacral skills and techniques. Lorentz also introduced sound/vibrational healing after researching its positive and profound impact on the body. The new location will provide access to much needed therapies for chronic stress and post-trauma care in a rural area.

As clinic director for the Integrative Health Community Project, a mobile stress-relief clinic sponsored through Columbia Resilience 501c3, Lorentz believes that "this is a dream come true!" It is the mission of Columbia Resilience to build stronger communities through times of transition by advancing local efforts through three main projects: a community orchard at Owen's Field, the First Time Bank of Columbia, and the Integrative Health Community Clinic.

From the beginning, the plan was to create a mobile clinic that could partner with churches and other nonprofit organizations to offer alternative services, teach research-based, self-care techniques and provide hot meals to residents living in outlying communities. Chi Energy Balance’s new office in Gaston will serve as the focal point. Doors open to the public the first weekend of the month, starting Saturday, June 6 (please see the Ongoing Events section).

Lorentz fully acknowledges that moving from Forest Acres to the country was a difficult decision to make, especially since most of her clientele is located in town. She is providing in-home services for local clients in Irmo and Forest Acres, and offering reduced rates for appointments in Gaston. "Since my rental expenses are significantly lower now, I can pass the savings on to my clients," she says. In appreciation of her customers, Lorentz is offering a special discount rate of only $44 for a 60-minute therapy session through Sunday, May 31.
