Unwind With Guided Sound Bath Session
An hour of tranquility will be offered on Wednesday, May 13, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Columbia Museum of Art. Juliet Hewitt, E-RYT 500 and certified integral sound practitioner, will lead a session that combines yoga nidra and a full-body sound bath experience.
The class begins with yoga nidra, a guided relaxation practice designed to support deep inward focus, followed by a sound bath featuring crystal and metal singing bowls, a gong and chimes. Benefits of sound baths include stress reduction, decreased anxiety and increased mental clarity.
Participants should wear comfortable clothing and bring a blanket or neck support. Mats are provided, though attendees may bring their own. The program is open to ages 15 and up; minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Cost: $20 for nonmembers and $16 for members. Location: 1515 Main St., Columbia. For more information or to register, visit ColumbiaMuseum.org/events/sound-bath-guided-relaxation-5.
