Meet Author Cathy Rigg at Columbia Museum of Art
The Columbia Museum of Art will host a literary program featuring Columbia author Cathy Rigg on Thursday, August 6, from 6 to 7 p.m. The free event, part of the museum’s Free First Thursday program, will spotlight Rigg’s debut novel, That Which Binds Us, a finalist for the 2025 Forward Indies Book of the Year in historical fiction.
Attendees can purchase a copy of the book, have it signed by Rigg, enjoy a beverage from the First Thursday on Main bar and join Rigg and Deputy Director Joelle Ryan-Cook for a reading and conversation. The evening will also include mountain music from special guests.
Born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains of southwest Virginia, Rigg is the founder of Columbia-based brand marketing firm Riggs Partners. Her fiction and poetry have appeared in numerous literary journals and anthologies.
Location: 1515 Main St., Columbia. For more information, visit ColumbiaMuseum.org/events/which-binds-us-book-talk-and-signing.
