Find Your Balance With Pilates in the Galleries
Pilates in the Galleries will be held Tuesday, September 8, and Tuesday, September 22, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Columbia Museum of Art (CMA), offering participants a chance to end the day with a restorative full-body Pilates session surrounded by works of art in the CMA Collection galleries. Led by Michaela Leung, the classes combine classical Pilates principles with contemporary movement for a balanced, mindful workout.
Each session includes exercises to strengthen the core, improve flexibility and enhance posture, with modifications offered for all experience levels. Energizing playlists ranging from hip-hop to indie music add to the welcoming atmosphere.
No prior experience is necessary. Mats are provided, although participants may bring their own mats and yoga props. The classes are open to participants ages 13 and older; unaccompanied minors are not permitted.
Cost: $20; $16 for members. Location: 1515 Main St., Columbia. For more information or to register, visit ColumbiaMuseum.org/events/pilates-galleries-5.
