Make Your Mark in Chalk

ArtLinc is returning for its seventh Chalk Arts Festival on Saturday, October 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The beloved community event invites artists, art lovers, educators, students and families out for a day of hands-on creativity as Columbia transforms into a vibrant, open-air gallery.

The festival offers free admission and provides participants of all skill levels the opportunity to create their own concrete masterpieces. Grounds will be sectioned into individual squares, giving every artist—seasoned pros and first-time doodlers alike—a dedicated canvas to showcase their talent and imagination. Chalk will be provided free of charge, though participants are welcome to bring their own supplies. Prizes will be awarded.

This year, ArtLinc will be held at the Vista Greenway Trail Entrance (under the Elmwood Street overpass). The nearly 1-mile former rail-trail corridor is a link for pedestrians and cyclists between residential neighborhoods; Finlay Park, one of the city’s most popular recreational amenities; and the Vista, the city’s shopping and entertainment district.

Location: Vista Greenway Trail, Columbia. For more information, visit ArtLincSC.wordpress.com.
